Take me to the first whiskey bar. That is Panama lurking in the shadows. We parked in front of this place and I was so excited to be able legally drink in public that I purchased a large double whiskey and had a nice buzz timed perfectly with the sunset playing light tricks across the French Quarter.

This is another house in the neighborhood. It was a waterfront house and actually faired better than many of the surrounding structures.

In other parts of town entire city blocks were leveled and all that remained were piles of rubble.

It was also striking to see giant steel billboards with sizable columns completely bent to the ground by the high winds. It was hard to imagine.

The underside of the shell looks like molded plastic. An adult male can grow up to 9×16. They are about 300 million years old.
